The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), a statutory body under the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) has advised all state governments against granting permission for dolphinariums, citing that they pose a grave health risk to the mammals, with such facilities linked with a high mortality rate among them.
